El nuevo entrenador del Real Betis Balompié, Víctor Fernández, ha dirigido hoy por primera vez -tras la destitución de Antonio Tapia- a la plantilla verdiblanca en una sesión en la que estuvo presente el consejero delegado de la entidad, Manuel Ruiz de Lopera.
Lopera acudió a la ciudad deportiva que lleva su nombre para presentar a Víctor Fernández a la plantilla y demandó a los jugadores "un gran esfuerzo" para devolver al Betis a Primera, ya que al término de la primera vuelta el equipo verdiblanco marcha octavo a cuatro puntos del ascenso y a trece del líder, el Hércules.
Con la sesión, desarrollada a puerta cerrada, Fernández y su preparador físico, José Luis Arjol, inician su segunda etapa al frente del Betis, club al que dirigieron durante dos temporadas completas entre 2002 y 2004, en las que lograron un octavo y un noveno puesto, respectivamente.
En la plantilla bética, permanecen cuatro futbolistas que ya trabajaron a las órdenes de Víctor Fernández entonces: los canteranos Juan Alberto Andreu "Melli", Jesús Capitán "Capi", David Rivas y Arturo García "Arzu".
Hasta hoy también sobrevivía en el elenco verdiblanco el delantero Daniel Martín "Dani", pero acaba de rescindir el contrato que lo unía al club hasta el próximo 30 de junio.
