Además, las preocupaciones sobre la salud fiscal de Grecia también socavaron la confianza del mercado.
El promedio industrial Dow Jones cayó 115,70 puntos, o un 1,13 por ciento, para un cierre provisional de 10.120,46 unidades.
El índice Standard & Poor's 500 perdió 12,97 puntos, o un 1,18 por ciento, para cerrar extraoficialmente a 1.084,53 puntos. El índice tecnológico Nasdaq Composite se hundió 42,41 puntos, o un 1,91 por ciento, para terminar en 2.179 unidades.
