Xavi Hernández se mostró feliz por marcar el gol de la victoria ante Estados Unidos, aunque hizo autocrítica al afirmar que "en los dos amistosos no se ha visto la mejor cara de España":
"Estoy contento porque no todos los días se marca un gol como el que he conseguido y sobre todo porque ha dado la victoria y confianza al equipo", manifestó.
"Ellos presionaron mucho en la primera parte. Hay que tener paciencia. Luego bajaron el ritmo en la segunda parte, jugamos con más fluidez y mejoramos", agregó.
Xavi reflexionó sobre el comportamiento de los rivales cuando se enfrentan a España. "Los equipos saben que tocamos y se encierran atrás, presionan en el medio del campo. Hoy nos costó más de lo normal. Necesitamos fluidez y velocidad de balón en la Eurocopa".
