Apple ha anunciado que ha vendido dos millones de unidades de su ordenador de pantalla táctil iPad, que se vende en Estados Unidos desde hace casi dos meses y en nueve mercados internacionales desde el pasado fin de semana.
Como suele ser habitual, la empresa no ha ofrecido un desglose de las ventas por cada país o región, pero ya indicó anteriormente que al mes de su lanzamiento, el 3 de abril, había vendido un millón de máquinas en Estados Unidos. Esa cifra supera el récord marcado por el iPhone.
Los seguidores de Apple abarrotaron las tiendas de la marca que el viernes empezaron a vender el dispositivo en España, Australia, Canadá, Francia, Alemania, Italia, Japón, Suiza y Reino Unido.
Apple había retrasado el lanzamiento internacional en un mes debido a dificultades para cumplir con la demanda por el ordenador, que ha recibido buenas reseñas en la reproducción de vídeos y juegos, la lectura de libros electrónicos o revistas y la navegación por Internet en general.
La empresa señaló que el iPad llegará a otros nueve países en julio, a los que se unirán más mercados a lo largo del año. RBC Capital Markets estima que para final de año, los despachos totales del iPad llegarán a los 8,13 millones de unidades en todo el mundo, lo que supondría al menos 4.000 millones de dólares en ingresos.
