España ocupa el noveno lugar del mundo en administración electrónica, según datos del informe eGovernment Readiness de Naciones Unidas difundidos hoy por el Ministerio de la Presidencia. En un comunicado, destaca que España ha avanzado once posiciones en este ránking durante 2009 y que es el quinto país de Europa en esta materia.
Según datos del informe facilitados por el Ministerio de la Presidencia, Corea del Sur encabeza la clasificación seguida de Estados Unidos, Canadá, Gran Bretaña, Holanda, Noruega, Dinamarca y Australia. Por detrás de España se sitúan Francia, Singapur y Suiza.
El informe eGovernment Readiness analiza la capacidad de los diferentes países para desarrollar el uso de las nuevas tecnologías en las Administraciones Públicas y facilitar el acceso de los ciudadanos a la información y los servicios públicos. También estudia la presencia del Gobierno en la Red, las infraestructuras de telecomunicaciones y la aceptación de la administración electrónica por los ciudadanos.
La Ley de Acceso Electrónico a los Servicios Públicos, aprobada en junio de 2007, establece que cualquier ciudadano pueda acceder en cualquier momento y desde cualquier lugar a través de Internet a la Administración.
Según datos del Gobierno, actualmente ya se puede acceder a través de medios electrónicos al 96,4% de los trámites de la Administración General del Estado.
