Si el Gobierno no encuentra señales de crisis es que no utiliza los medios adecuados. Por ejemplo, podría valerse del reciente Premio Príncipe de Asturias de Comunicación y Humanidades: Google.
El experimento lo han realizado en una web especializada en noticias sobre el buscador. Consiste en usar la herramienta Google Trends para analizar las búsquedas realizadas sobre términos concretos en determinado periodo de tiempo.
Evidentemente, este experimento no demuestra por sí mismo la existencia de una crisis, sino que pone de relevancia la percepción de la misma por parte de los usuarios del buscador.
Google Trends revela que las búsquedas de la palabra crisis se han multiplicado en los últimos meses. Sólo se han tenido en cuenta las consultas realizadas en España.
Por vías indirectas, también encontramos señales. El buscador recibe en los últimos meses menos peticiones acerca de temas como "vuelos", "hoteles" o "coches", algunos de los gastos que antes se recortan en tiempos de crisis. Igualmente cae la petición de páginas sobre "pisos" y, sin embargo, aumenta el interés por el tema "como ahorrar".
Otras herramientas de Google también presentan índices interesantes. Por ejemplo, su condensador de noticias sirve para constatar que la senscación de que los medios dan más informaciones sobre este tema responde a datos reales.
