La Biblioteca Nacional ha firmado un convenio de colaboración con Bubok, el servicio de autopublicación en español a través de Internet, para la publicación y venta de las obras de dicha institución incluidas en la Biblioteca Digital Hispánica, según un comunicado.
El pasado mes de octubre Bubok firmó un acuerdo con Google por el que los usuarios se benefician de las ventajas que ofrece el programa de promoción de libros de dicho buscador.
Ahora, con el convenio firmado con la Biblioteca Nacional, se ofrece por primera vez en Europa este servicio a sus usuarios que, a partir de la Biblioteca Digital Hispánica, podrán obtener fácilmente ejemplares impresos o en formato electrónico los documentos contenidos en dicha biblioteca virtual.
Además, las obras digitales de la Biblioteca Digital serán a su vez promocionadas en Bubok.
La Biblioteca Digital Hispánica ofrece un acceso libre y gratuito a las principales obras de la Biblioteca Nacional. Proporciona la consulta, lectura y descarga de 10.000 obras entre las que destacan manuscritos, libros impresos del siglo XV al siglo XIX, grabados, dibujos, carteles, fotografías y mapas. Un amplio elenco de documentos, organizados por colecciones y subcolecciones.
Sus objetivos son cumplir el compromiso adquirido con la Unión Europea de contribuir en la creación de la futura Biblioteca Digital Europea; y ofrecer un canal de cooperación al resto de bibliotecas españolas y latinoamericanas.
Bubok nació en mayo de 2008 para facilitar la publicación de obras escritas a usuarios, bajo la única limitación de que la obra no sea amoral ni alegal.
Con una media de edición de 500 libros mensuales, entre ellos un buen número de novelas, Bubok también se ocupa de otro tipo de obras, desde libros de autoayuda hasta recetas de cocina, revistas o temarios de oposiciones.
