El periódico The Guardian ha publicado un anuncio en su página web en la que ofrece trabajo a 'blogueros' que quieran cubrir informción local en Leeds, Cardiff o Edinburgo. La carrera de periodismo será "deseable", pero no es "necesaria".
El anuncio del rotativo británico se publica meses después de que el grupo Guardian Media Group anunciara despidos entre su plantilla para hacer frente al descenso de publicidad y en el contexto de buscar nuevas formas de hacer negocio en que se encuentra la prensa a nivel mundial.
La oferta de The Guardian consiste en un contrato como colaborador de 12 meses de duración, trabajando desde casa o "desde cualquier sitio con conexión a Internet" como 'bloguero' encargado de cubrir mediante textos, fotografías, audios y vídeos la información local.
Las condiciones son "tener pasión" por la información local y tener dotes para crear relaciones sociales en la comunidad.
El 'bloguero' deberá informar sobre acontecimientos políticos y sobre todos aquellos temas que interesen a la comunidad, por lo que deberá demostrar "sensibilidad" para captar lo que sucede a su alrededor. La carrera de periodismo es "deseable", pero no "necesaria".
Los 'blogueros' elegidos serán supervisados por los editores del periódico y tendrán acceso a los recursos de información del rotativo. Según afirma en el anuncio publicado en su web, 'The Guardian' considera que estos puestos reflejan "los cambios en la naturaleza" del nuevo periodismo.
