La afición por confeccionar listas catalogando lo mejor y lo peor de cualquier aspecto de la vida es una tradición que viene de lejos. La que recoge los mejores riffs de guitarra no será la última.
La prestigiosa 'Tech Music School' de Londres ha publicado una encuesta realizada entre sus alumnos en la que se los instaba a que eligieran los mejores riffs de guitarras de todos los tiempos.
Entre los datos más cuirosos de los resultados sobresale que muchos de los temas seleccionados tienen más de 20 años de antigüedad. Si tomamos como vara de medir el siglo XXI, apenas se cuela un tema: el Seven Nation Army, de los estadounidenses The White Stripes, que se queda en un modesto puesto 19.
Los cinco primeros han sido:
1.- Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water (1973)
2.- Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit (1991)
3.- Aerosmith - Walk This Way (1975)
4.- Jimi Hendrix - 'Purple Haze' (1967)
5.- Guns N Roses - 'Sweet Child O Mine' (1987)
