La taquilla española tiene dos reyes: Sherlock Holmes y Avatar. La superproducción de Cameron fue, por quinta semana consecutiva, la película más taquillera, pero el estreno de Guy Ritchie fue la cinta que más público llevó a las salas de cine.
Este doble trono en la taquilla española tiene su explicación en el elevado precio de las entradas para las salas en 3D que hacen que, pese a que el nuevo Holmes haya superado a Avatar en número de espectadores, no consiga recaudar más que la cinta de Cameron este fin de semana.
En todo caso la pareja Law-Downey Jr. ha aterrizado en la cartelera española por todo lo alto logrando llevar a las salas de cine a 567.000 espectadores que le hicieron recaudar un total de 3,67 millones de euros. Por su parte Avatar llevó menos gente a los cines pero recaudó 4,3 millones de euros y ya acumula más de 46 millones en los cines españoles donde es la más taquillera de la historia.
¿Qué fue de los Morgan?, la comedia romántica protagonizada por Hugh Grant y Sarah Jessica Parker baja del segundo al tercer puesto justo por delante de Alvin y las ardillas 2, que aguanta el tirón entre los primeros puestos. Otro estreno aparece en el quinto puesto, La decisión de Anne a la que sigue la española Celda 211, que esta semana ocupa un meritorio sexto puesto y, tras once semanas en cartelera, ha conseguido remontar una posición.
El top-ten de las más vistas lo completan la comedia romántica No es tan fácil con Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin y Steve Martin; el remake de Teniente Corrupto protagonizado por Nicolas Cage y Eva Mendes; la cinta de acción y fantasía Solomon Kane; y Un tipo serio, lo nuevo de los hermanos Coen.
