La actriz Zsa Zsa Gabor, de 93 años, pidió a su marido que un cura acudiera al hospital donde se encuentra ingresada para que le diera la extremaunción, informó hoy su publicista, John Blanchette. 'Son momentos tristes para ellos', comentó Blanchette.
Gabor se encuentra en condición 'muy crítica' en el centro médico Ronald Reagan, de la Universidad de California en Los Ángeles (UCLA), añadió su marido, el príncipe Frederic Von Anhalt.
La intérprete, nacida en Hungría, se cayó de la cama el 17 de julio cuando trataba de contestar al teléfono. Se le practicó la operación de cadera dos días más tarde y permaneció convaleciente en el hospital hasta el pasado miércoles, debido a una infección.
Dos días después de regresar a su hogar tuvo que ser reingresada por complicaciones derivadas de ese procedimiento y se le retiraron dos coágulos de sangre.
Este sábado se cumplió el 24 aniversario del enlace entre Gabor y Von Anhalt. Gabor, protagonista de títulos como Moulin Rouge, Lili y Touch of Evil, usa silla de ruedas después de sufrir un accidente de coche en 2002. Gabor demandó al conductor del vehículo, su peluquero Jaren Millard, y obtuvo dos millones de dólares de indemnización. La artista también sufrió una apoplejía en 2005.
La actriz ha estado casada nueve veces. Uno de sus nueve maridos fue el empresario hotelero Conrad Hilton, bisabuelo de Paris Hilton, con quien estuvo casada de 1942 a 1947. Gabor, ganadora de un Globo de Oro especial a la actriz más glamourosa en 1958, fue condenada a tres días de cárcel en 1989 tras abofetear a un policía en Beverly Hills.
