El propietario del Chelsea, Roman Abramovich, quiere vender el equipo a los jeques árabes según informa hoy el rotativo inglés The Sunday Times, después de que miembros de la directiva de los 'blues' hayan viajado a Arabia Saudí y Dubai para sondear la venta del club.
El magnate ruso ha enviado a sus emisarios a tierras árabes para negociar el traspaso de las acciones del Chelsea, llegando a contactar con los miembros de la familia real saudita. A pesar de ello, a día de hoy todavía no habría encontrado un potencial comprador.
Abramovich compró el Chelsea por 66,5 millones de euros, teniendo más de 88 millones de euros de las deudas, y desde entonces ha gastado al menos 554 millones de euros en préstamos para comprar nuevos jugadores.
De este modo, si el magnate ruso puede recuperar su dinero, él estará dispuesto a vender el equipo después de cinco años en los que ha llevado al Chelsea a una final de Liga de Campeones y ha ganado dos veces la Premier League.
El rotativo inglés apunta a que Abramovich habría perdido más de 3.000 millones de euros de sus más de 8.000 millones de fortuna. Fuentes de la ciudad de Londres creen que el actual propietario del Chelsea podría exigir al menos 800 millones de libras (880 millones de euros) por el club.
