Nadie como Dunga representa esa transformación estilística de la canarinha, pues él fue uno de sus gestores en la hierba. "Nuestro fútbol siempre ha sido respetado en todo el mundo, pero ahora muchos de nuestros jugadores juegan en Europa y les han enseñado a tener sentido de equipo", dijo Dunga, que recalcó su papel de domador de jugadores: "Las horas de sueño y hasta la alimentación son miresponsabilidad".
Brasil tiene la posibilidad de limpiar a Italia del campeonato y eso no se le escapa a Kaká: "Siempre que juego contra rivales de entidad me crezco y este partido va a ser muy importante. Somos los dos países con más mundiales tenemos y este es el clásico del fútbol mundial".
En Italia, vapuleada por la prensa, ha tomado la palabra Buffon y pide fidelidad a la causa y al estilo: "Podemos ganar a Brasil y luego a España sin hacer fútbol espectáculo. No somos la momia que dicen". Y Lippi avisa: "Somos los campeones del mundo y debemos demostrarlo".
