Los turistas y pequineses que cuenten con entradas para las pruebas de los Juegos Olímpicos podrán utilizar de forma gratuita el metro y los autobuses públicos de la capital china, informó hoy el diario China Daily.
Asimismo, Pekín ampliará las horas de funcionamiento de 350 rutas de autobús, creará 34 nuevos trayectos destinados a conectar la ciudad con las instalaciones olímpicas, y pondrá dos rutas con itinerarios turísticos al servicio del público.
Todas estas medidas, apuntó el rotativo, forman parte de los esfuerzos del Comité Organizador de Pekín 2008 (BOCOG) por asimilar con fluidez la llegada de 8 millones de personas a la ciudad, entre atletas, periodistas y espectadores.
Según explicó el director del Comité Municipal de Comunicaciones, Zhou Zhengyu, los espectadores podrán coger metro y autobuses gratis hasta las cuatro de la tarde del día siguiente a la fecha del evento para el que cuentan con entrada.
Quedan exentos de la medida los servicios hacia la periferia de ciudad y los autobuses con destino al aeropuerto pequinés, que tendrán que ser abonados, subrayó Zhou. Según las previsiones, durante los Juegos Olímpicos se efectuarán 21,1 millones de viajes en la red de transporte público de la capital. Los Juegos Olímpicos de Pekín 2008 arrancarán el próximo 8 de agosto a las ocho de la tarde, y la capital china se encuentra en plena ebullición ante la llegada del momento.
