BARCELONA. Caixabank anunció el lunes un incremento de su participación en el banco austriaco Erste Bank al 9,9% desde el 9,1% anterior tras adquirir 3,5 millones de acciones a la Fundación Erste.
A precios de cierre del lunes, este incremento de participación se habría realizado por un valor de unos 64,3 millones de euros.
Según los términos del nuevo acuerdo y tras recibir el visto bueno del regulador austriaco, CaixaBank entra a formar parte del grupo de socios estables de Erste Group Bank, junto a un grupo de cajas austriacas y algunas de sus fundaciones, y el holding WSW, dijo la entidad catalana en un comunicado.
El grupo de socios estables de Erste Bank mantiene conjuntamente una participación del 30% en Erste Group Bank.
En los resultados a cierre de junio de 2014, Caixabank reconoció un impacto negativo de unos 153 millones de euros en sus cuentas por el menor resultado atribuido de Erste Group.
A principios de julio, la entidad austriaca anunció un incremento del coste del riesgo, como consecuencia de un aumento de las provisiones en Hungría y Rumanía, que provocarían unas pérdidas de entre 1.400 millones y 1.600 millones de euros para sus resultados de 2014.
El renovado acuerdo supone que CaixaBank, al igual que el resto de socios de la Fundación, votará en la junta general de accionistas en el mismo sentido que la Fundación Erste sólo en lo que se refiere a la elección de miembros del Consejo de Vigilancia, dijo la entidad española.
En la próxima junta general de accionistas de Erste Group Bank, prevista en el primer trimestre de 2015, CaixaBank explicó que optará a nombrar un segundo miembro en el consejo de vigilancia de Erste Group Bank.
