El responsable de la Dirección General de Tráfico, Pere Navarro, señaló ayer que se permitirán los permisos de conducción a menores de 18 siempre y cuando viajen acompañados. “Todos los países nos hablan positivamente de esta iniciativa, con lo cual, sin ser una prioridad, es un tema a profundizar. Se hará”, añadió Navarro, según la agencia Efe.
Poco después, fuentes de la DGT precisaron que no hay proyectos en marcha para permitir el carnet a menores. Sin embargo, el director general señaló que esta iniciativa es un buen complemento a la formación que imparten las autoescuelas y un plus de enseñanza antes de empezar a conducir individualmente.
Las asociaciones de víctimas de tráfico consideraron una “temeridad” la medida. La presidenta de Stop Accidentes, Ana María Campo, se mostró contraria a la idea. “Los chicos con 17 años son niños, y como niños que son cogerán el coche en cuanto puedan sin que les acompañe algún adulto. No creo que ningún padre vaya de copas toda la noche con el coche”, dijo a Europa Press. Para la agrupación DIA, la medida tendría “más efectos negativos que positivos”.
