Los seis inmigrantes indios que llevan instalados frente a la Delegación del Gobierno en Melilla desde el pasado 12 de mayo reanudaron ayer la huelga de hambre que ya mantuvieron el pasado mes durante 22 días con el objetivo de solicitar su traslado a la Península.
Según un portavoz de los seis inmigrantes, estos ciudadanos indios afrontan la medida de protesta “desesperados” y con el deseo de que las autoridades competentes den una solución a su situación, tras más de dos años de estancia en España.
Conscientes de que las altas temperaturas pueden acentuar los efectos de la huelga de hambre, los inmigrantes manifiestan que quieren llegar “hasta el final”, ya que, según aseguran, lo que no quieren es volver bajo ningún concepto a su país.
Los seis inmigrantes, que proceden de la región de Cachemira, están dispuestos a estar sin comer y tan sólo ingiriendo agua durante “semanas o meses”, todo ello para conseguir una solución a su problema, que para ellos pasa por el traslado a la Península, donde esperan tener más posibilidades de trabajo que en la ciudad autónoma.
Por otro lado, otros 67 inmigrantes de la misma nacionalidad que llevan viviendo dos meses en un monte de Ceuta tras abandonar un Centro de Estancia Temporal de Inmigrantes, pidieron la semana pasada al Gobierno soluciones para abandonar su acción de protesta.
