Instituciones Penitenciarias ha concedido el tercer grado al etarra Joseba Andoni Díaz Urrutia, que el pasado mes de junio había sido trasladado a la prisión de Nanclares de Oca (Álava), según han informado fuentes del Ministerio del Interior.
Díaz Urrutia, que fue llevado a Nanclares desde la cárcel de Zuera (Zaragoza) tras cumplir los requisitos que exige la ley, en especial el perdón por escrito a las víctimas y la asunción de la indemnizaciones por responsabilidad civil por su actividad terrorista, estaba condenado por integrar EKIN, considerado el aparato político de ETA.
Desde octubre, Díaz Urrutia estaba en un régimen flexible del segundo grado penitenciario y, a partir de hoy, en tercer grado, podrá solicitar el acceso a la libertad condicional.
Se trata de la segunda ocasión en que el actual Gobierno del PP concede el tercer grado a un etarra, pues el pasado febrero lo hizo con José Manuel Fernández Pérez, también interno en Nanclares, que integró el "comando Vizcaya" en distintas épocas y que cumple condena desde 1992.

Por otra parte, el Ministerio del Interior ha comunicado que se ha trasladado desde la cárcel de Zaballa (Álava) a la de Topas (Salamanca), a Ekaitz Samaniego, un preso miembro de Segi arrestado el pasado enero. No consta que Samaniego, que fue condenado a ocho años de cárcel por el Tribunal Supremo (TS) por atacar una parada del tranvía de Vitoria en 2009, se haya desvinculado de la banda armada, ni que haya rechazado la violencia.
Samaniego estaba pendiente de clasificación en prisión y, tras ser puesto en segundo grado, se ha decidido su alejamiento del País Vasco.
Además, la semana pasada el departamento de Jorge Fernández acordó el acercamiento al País Vasco de un recluso con una grave enfermedad mental, Aitzol Gogorza, que fue conducido a la cárcel de Basauri (Bizkaia) desde Sevilla.
