Un joven de 23 años, que tenía una orden de alejamiento en vigor, mató presuntamente esta tarde a su ex novia en la vivienda que ambos compartieron cuando eran pareja, en la localidad alicantina de Catral. La joven, también de 23 años, falleció como consecuencia de la agresión de su ex pareja con un arma blanca, según informaron fuentes de la Guardia Civil.
El joven, natural de Elche (Alicante), llamó a su padre tras cometer la mortal agresión y fue este último quien dio aviso a los agentes. Instantes después, varias dotaciones de la Benemérita acudieron al inmueble en el que se produjeron los hechos. Allí, los guardias civiles detuvieron al agresor, sobre quien pesaba una orden de alejamiento en vigor desde agosto.
Esta medida judicial fue adoptada a raíz de un juicio celebrado ese mismo mes después de que la ahora fallecida presentara una denuncia contra él por maltrato, según indicaron a Efe fuentes próximas a la investigación. Desde esa fecha, ambos no convivían en la casa en la que se produjo el asesinato.
Con este crimen, son ya 66 las mujeres asesinadas por sus parejas en 2010, 15 más que el año pasado en estas mismas fechas, según las cifras del Ministerio de Sanidad, Política Social e Igualdad. Como la joven fallecida en Catral, 11 de estas víctimas tenían medidas de protección.
