El teniente coronel Abraham Ruiz López negó ayer ante el juez de la Audiencia Nacional Fernando Grande-Marlaska que se hubieran pagado comisiones ilegales en la contratación del Yak-42 que se estrellóen Turquía el 26 de mayo de 2003 y en el que murieron 62 militares españoles.
El último militar imputado en el procedimiento fue el oficial de enlace del Estado Mayor Conjunto con la agencia de la OTAN que subcontrató el vuelo, NAMSA, e investigó, a petición del ministro de Defensa en 2004, José Bono, las comisiones pagadas en los contratos del avión Yak-42. Con su informe se descubrió que un 75% del dinero que España pagó por la aeronave fue a parar a las cinco subcontratas intervinientes. Ante el juez, el teniente coronel aseguró que hubo un precio cerrado con NAMSA, que no se modificó, pese a las empresas intermediarias que participaron en la contratación del avión de la ucraniana UM Air.
El juez Grande-Marlaska investiga las irregularidades producidas en las contratación del avión. Hasta ahora había cinco imputados por 62 homicidios imprudentes por omisión. Entre ellos están el exjefe de la cúpula militar en 2003, el almirante Antonio Moreno Barberá y otros miembros del Estado Mayor Conjunto.
