El periodista español Manu Brabo, detenido en Libia, se encuentra retenido en una "casa segura" de la ciudad de Trípoli, donde este martes ha sido juzgado y condenado a pagar una multa por entrar ilegalmente en el país, según ha informado la familia.
La madre de Manu, la zaragozana Victoria Brabo, ha declarado este miércoles que todavía desconocen la sentencia, pero ya "se le ha puesto una multa". El proceso judicial se ha acabado, según han informado a la familia fuentes consulares. La casa en la que está Brabo es considerada "segura" por las autoridades libias.
La vista ha sido cerrada. Victoria Brabo desconoce si su hijo Manu ha sido asistido por un abogado independiente y tampoco sabe qué tribunal le ha juzgado, aunque "hay una persona del Gobierno de España pendiente" diariamente del reportero freelance.
La familia no sabe cuándo se podrá comunicar con Manu, si bien Victoria ha explicado que un representante del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores habla todos los días con él.
Manu Brabo lleva casi seis semanas retenido en Libia, donde fue arrestado por tropas leales al dictador Muammar Gadafi junto con otros dos periodistas. Durante días el Gobierno de España y la familia desconocían dónde se encontraba y finalmente sus padres pudieron hablar con él, días atrás.
