El doctor Suleiman Refardi es un médico libio que trabaja en el este del país. Según el testimonio que este facultativo ofreció ayer a la cadena BBC, siete civiles murieron y 25 resultaron heridos en un bombardeo aéreo de la coalición internacional en la localidad de Zawia el Argobe, situada a 15 kilómetros de Brega.
De acuerdo con el relato de Refardi, que habló con la familia de cuatro de las víctimas, el ataque, que tuvo lugar el miércoles, tenía como objetivo un convoy del Ejército libio, que incluía carros de combate, artillería y un camión que transportaba munición.Al ser alcanzado directamente por los misiles de los aviones occidentales, el camión explotó destruyendo dos casas cercanas.
Todos los muertos tenían entre 12 y 20 años, precisó el médico. La OTAN informó ayer a la BBC de que ha abierto una investigación sobre las muertes denunciadas por el doctor Refardi. También el vicario apostólico en Libia, el obispo Giovanni Innocenzo Martinelli, volvió a denunciar ayer las muertes de más civiles, después de que el jueves acusara a la coalición aliada de haber matado a 40 personas en uno de ataques enTrípoli.
Martinelli asegura que ocho civiles han muerto en los bombardeos aliados sobre Sirte, la ciudad natal de Gadafi. "Los bombardeos de la OTAN en la ciudad de Sirte se han cobrado otras ocho víctimas, sobre todo mujeres y niños, además de 40 militares de Gadafi", dijo Martinelli a la agencia vaticana Asianews. El obispo agregó que en Trípoli, donde reside, comienzan a escasear el agua, la comida y el carburante.
