Un intento de secuestro de un avión turco procedente de Ucrania terminó este viernes en el aeropuerto de Estambul, con la entrada de las fuerzas especiales de Turquía, a los que se entregó el frustrado pirata aéreo que pretendía desviar el aparato a la ciudad rusa de Sochi, donde este viernes se inauguraron los Juegos Olímpicos de invierno.
El pasajero, un ucraniano que actuó bajo los efectos del alcohol, pretendía acceder a la cabina del piloto del avión, de la compañía turca Pegasus, durante el vuelo que cubría la ruta entre la ciudad ucraniana de Jarkov con Estambul, informó la cadena CNNTürk. Tras una hora de tensa espera en el aeropuerto de Sabiha Gökçen, en la parte asiática de Estambul, el frustrado secuestrador fue neutralizado y se entregó a las fuerzas de seguridad, que lo trasladaron a la comisaría para proceder a un interrogatorio, y los 110 pasajeros del avión pudieron desembarcar.
El avión ubría la ruta entre Jarkov (este de Ucrania) y Estambul, aterrizó en el aeropuerto Sabiha Gökçen de la capital turca emitiendo señales de haber sido secuestrado, informaron varios medios turcos.
El piloto emitió una señal de secuestro y al recibirla, un caza del tipo F-16 de la fuerza aérea turca despegó de la base de Balikesir para acompañar al avión comercial, que aterrizó en el aeropuerto asiático de Estambul.
El aparato permaneció en una zona de seguridad del aeropuerto, donde se elevó la alerta de seguridad al máximo nivel. El secuestrador amenaza con hacer explotar una bomba. Finalmente, las fuerzas especiales turcas redujeron al fallido pirata aéreo.
