El Gobierno de Mariano Rajoy ha entregado este lunes a Ucrania 300 cascos y 500 chalecos antifragmentos dentro de una donación de material militar que forma parte de un conjunto de medidas de apoyo a las fuerzas armadas de este país promovido por la Alianza Atlántica.
Los 2.080 kilogramos de material militar se han desplazado hasta el aeropuerto de Kiev, Borispol, en un avión C-295 (T-21) del Ala 35 del Ejército del Aire, según ha informado el Ministerio de Defensa.
Esta donación se produce tras la solicitud concreta de ayuda hecha por el Embajador de Ucrania en España, Serhii Pogoreltsev, con motivo de la situación crisis que está viviendo su país debido a las hostilidades con Rusia.
El coronel Fernando Goy, de la Dirección General de Política de Defensa, ha sido el encargado de hacer la entrega oficial al coronel Ostrovskiy, jefe de la Sección de Acuerdos Internacionales y representante de las Fuerzas Armadas Ucranianas.
