Veintitrés muertos en las carreteras en el puente de la Constitución. /EFE
Veintitrés personas han muerto en 21 accidentes ocurridos en las carreteras entre el viernes, día 4, y las doce de la noche de ayer, martes, siete víctimas más que en el puente de la Constitución de 2014, aunque entonces hubo un día festivo menos.
Según el balance de la Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT), otras ocho personas resultaron heridas en los siniestros a lo largo del puente, y ya se contabilizan 29 fallecidos en los ocho primeros días de este mes de diciembre.
Cuatro de los muertos a lo largo del puente eran motoristas. El día de mayor siniestralidad fue el domingo, con ocho muertos y dos heridos en ocho accidentes.
El sábado se registraron cinco accidentes, con cinco muertos y tres heridos; el lunes hubo cuatro accidentes, con cinco muertos y un herido; el martes otros tres siniestros con tres muertos y un herido, y el viernes, cuando comenzó la operación salida, se produjo un accidente en el que perecieron dos personas y otra resultó herida.
Según los datos de la DGT, 15 de los accidentes se produjeron en vía convencional y 6 en autopista o autovía. De los 21 accidentes, 9 fueron por salidas de vía, cinco colisiones, 6 atropellos y una caída de un ciclista. En el acumulado anual, hasta el 8 de diciembre se llevan contabilizados 1.066 fallecidos.
La DGT ha mantenido un dispositivo especial con motivo del puente de la Constitución, en el que se habían previsto más de 5,7 millones de viajes por carretera sobre todo hacia zonas de montaña para la práctica de deportes de invierno, así como a áreas turísticas de descanso y segundas residencias.
