Los primeros agricultores están llegando a Bruselas para manifestarse contra el alza del precio de los carburantes y reclamar ayudas, en una acción convocada por varias organizaciones de transportistas y agricultores belgas, según ha informado hoy la agencia Belga.
Los convocantes de las protestas esperan que entre 500 y 1.000 camiones y tractores participarán en la marcha de protesta por las calles de la capital.
Los transportistas decidieron ir cada uno por su cuenta a Bruselas, para no perturbar el tráfico, pero los agricultores sí vienen en caravana y están causando retrasos porque se metieron por autopista, según ha informado la Policía a la agencia Belga.
El objetivo de los agricultores es reunirse en el parque del Cincuentenario, en pleno barrio europeo.
A las 11.45 horas (9.45 GMT) la comisaria europea de Agricultura, Mariann Fischer Boel recibirá a una delegación de los manifestantes.
Además, los agricultores tienen previsto repartir a los viandantes carne y leche en varios puntos de Bruselas.
Por su parte, los transportistas y los taxistas recorrerán en caravana el centro de la ciudad, a lo largo de cerca de cuatro horas.
Ya se han reunido en el centro de la ciudad en torna a 70 taxis, convocados por tres asociaciones del sector, que se unirán después a los camioneros.
