La Autoridad Nacional Palestina (ANP) no firmará acuerdos de paz con Israel ni convocará elecciones sin una reconciliación previa entre Al Fatah y Hamás que reunifique los territorios palestinos bajo un mando, dijo hoy uno de los líderes palestinos, Saeb Erekat.
"No habrá solución política o elecciones sin Jerusalén (Este), Cisjordania y Gaza como una unidad", declaró Erekat, jefe negociador de la Organización para la Liberación de Palestina (OLP) y asesor del presidente palestino y líder de Al Fatah, Mahmud Abás.
Gaza se encuentra bajo control de Hamás y Cisjordania de la ANP desde que en junio de 2007 el movimiento islamista expulsara de la franja a las fuerzas leales a Abás en seis días de enfrentamientos.
Ambos grupos han mantenido en los últimos meses cuatro rondas de diálogo de reconciliación en El Cairo, sin éxito, la última de las cuales concluyó ayer con el acuerdo de tener una quinta a mediados de mayo.
Erekat subrayó hoy que "Abás y el liderazgo palestino están efectuando todos los esfuerzos para restaurar la unidad palestina, pues "la división es una espada colocada en el cuello de nuestro pueblo".
Erekat apuntó asimismo que la ANP no puede alcanzar acuerdo de paz alguno con Israel mientras este país continúe sus medidas unilaterales para anexionarse Jerusalén Este y aislarla de Cisjordania.
Abás rechaza retomar el diálogo político con Israel mientras el nuevo primer ministro israelí, el derechista Benjamín Netanyahu, se niegue a aceptar públicamente la creación de un Estado palestino como base para la solución del conflicto de Oriente Medio.
