El Tribunal Supremo anuló el viernes una resolución del Consejo de Ministros de 2007 que reservaba 287 hectáreas de una zona de marismas protegida en la localidad gaditana de Puerto Real para construir un polígono industrial.
Al aceptar el recurso interpuesto por la organización ecologista WWF-Adena, el Supremo anula y deja sin efecto la decisión del gabinete ministerial por entender que esa reserva de suelo para el polígono Las Aletas incumple la Ley de Costas de 1988.
El Gobierno y la Junta de Andalucía habían apostado por esta ubicación para unas instalaciones industriales de grandes dimensiones que ayudaran a relanzar la economía de la bahía de Cádiz, donde existe una de las tasas de desempleo más altas del país.
En sus argumentaciones, el Supremo dice que no está "justificado" que la reserva de las marismas sea la única opción viable para la instalación de un polígono industrial.
"Debe notarse que la afirmación (del Gobierno) de que se trata de la única opción de localización viable se realiza en el mencionado documento técnico sin el respaldo de un estudio de posibles alternativas como el que habría sido inexcusable en el caso de la evaluación de impacto ambiental de un proyecto", recoge el auto.
