Un avión de la línea española Iberia, con unas 250 personas a bordo, debió regresar hoy al principal aeropuerto de Venezuela media hora después de su despegue por orden de la seguridad aeroportuaria, informaron a Efe fuentes de la compañía.
Portavoces de la oficina de Iberia en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetía, a unos 30 kilómetros al norte de Caracas, confirmaron a Efe que el avión regresó al aeropuerto venezolano por órdenes de la seguridad aeroportuaria, sin dar más precisiones al respecto.
Los pasajeros fueron desembarcados y las autoridades venezolanas "chequearon" el aparato, agregaron las fuentes de Iberia en Maiquetía.
Poco antes de las 22.00 hora local (02.30 GMT del sábado), la compañía española indicó a Efe que el vuelo 6700 de Iberia quedaba aplazado para mañana, sábado, y que los pasajeros pasarán la noche en hoteles cercanos al aeropuerto.
Medios de prensa locales, que citaron fuentes de la Torre de Control de Maiquetía, señalaron que el avión fue devuelto debido a una supuesta "alarma de bomba" que resultó "falsa", sin que esa versión haya sido confirmada oficialmente.
