Actualizado:
La Fundación Bill y Melinda Gates donaron hoy 38 millones de dólares a la Alianza Mundial para una Nutrición Mejorada (GAIN) con el objetivo de ayudar a combatir la malnutrición de los menores.
La Alianza, con base en Ginebra, utilizará los fondos para reforzar los programas de nutrición de los niños de seis a 24 meses, explicó un comunicado de la institución.
La malnutrición es la causa de un tercio de las muertes de los niños menores de cinco años, lo que representa más de 9.000 muertes por día, según GAIN.
