El BM Ciudad Real, actual campeón, se enfrentará contra el Croatia Osiguranje y el Hamburgo en el Grupo C de la fase principal de la Liga de Campeones, mientras que el FC Barcelona Borges jugará en el grupo D y el Pevafersa Valladolid, en el Grupo A.
El reparto de los equipos en cuatro grupos fue dado a conocer ayer en una gala organizada por la Federación Europea de Balonmano (EHF), en el Museo Liechtenstein de Viena, donde se efectuó el sorteo correspondiente.
En el grupo C, el Ciudad Real tendrá además como rivales al danés FCK Handbold A/S, al sueco Alingsas HK, y al equipo que surja como invitado del torneo.
El FC Barcelona Borges deberá jugar contra el alemán THW Kiel, el danés KIF Kolding y el suizo ZMC Amicitia Zúrich, mientras que el Pevafersa Valladolid se enfrentará al ruso Chekhovskie Medvedi, al francés Montepellier HB, al húngaro Pick Szeged y al rumano HCM Constanta. Un último rival para cada grupo procederá de la fase previa.
