Las bolsas europeas subían el martes en el primer tramo de la sesión, con los títulos de energía en cabeza del rebote después de que la petrolera británica BP superase las previsiones con sus resultados del tercer trimestre.
A las 09:10 GMT, el índice paneuropeo FTSEurofirst 300 de principales valores subía un 0,14 por ciento a 997,12 puntos.
"BP lo hizo mejor de lo previsto, motivo por el que el mercado está subiendo", dijo Bernard McAlinden, estratega de NCB Stockbrokers.
Las energéticas eran las que más contribuían al avance, especialmente BP, que saltaba un 4,7 por ciento tras superar las previsiones en el tercer trimestre gracias al control de gastos, algo que ha llevado a la compañía a mejorar su objetivo anual en este apartado.
En el sector, BG Group, Royal Dutch Shell y Total subían entre el 0,6 por ciento y el 1,5 por ciento.
El fabricante danés de aerogeneradores Vestas Wind se disparaba un 10 por ciento tras ganar más de lo previsto en el tercer trimestre.
Esta tarde, los inversores estarán atentos al índice de precios de vivienda estadounidense Case/Shiller, cuya lectura de agosto se conocerá a las 13:00 GMT, y también al dato de confianza del consumidor a las 14:00 GMT.
