Las bolsas europeas abrieron el viernes a la baja y ya encadenan tres sesiones consecutivas en negativo, con los bancos bajo presión vendedora tras el endurecimiento de la normativa del sector estadounidense propuesto por el presidente Barack Obama.
A las 0818 GMTE, el índice paneuropeo FTSEurofirst 300 bajaba un 0,28 por ciento a 1.033,18 puntos, tras perder un 1,6 por ciento en la víspera en su peor cierre desde el 22 de diciembre.
Los bancos eran los principales damnificados por los planes de Obama, quien propuso nuevas normas para prevenir que los bancos, o las instituciones financieras dueñas de bancos, posean, inviertan o patrocinen fondos de cobertura o de capital privado.
Barclays, HSBC, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale y Deutsche Bank caían entre el 0,2 por ciento y el 4,4 por ciento.
"Tenemos que digerir la respuesta que dieron los mercados estadounidenses al plan Obama, muy negativa en general", dijo Gerhard Schwarz, responsable de estrategia global en renta variable de Unicredit en Munihc.
Anoche, Wall Street sufrió su peor caída intradía desde octubre arrastrada por la banca.
En la sesión de hoy, los inversores estarán pendientes de los resultados que publicará el conglomerado industrial estadounidense General Electric.
