"En nuestro país no hay más objeción de conciencia que aquella que está expresamente establecida en la Constitución o por el legislador en las Cortes Generales", explicó el ministro de Justicia, Francisco Caamaño, en una entrevista concedida a Europa Press.
De esta manera, rechazó la posibilidad de crear un registro de médicos y sanitarios que no quieran realizar abortos por motivos éticos.
El ministro aseguró que "no cabe la objeción de conciencia" respecto al aborto y que, en caso de no llevarse a cabo las intervenciones requeridas por motivos morales, el facultativo incurriría en un acto de "desobediencia civil".
Caamaño admitió que "hay supuestos en los que debe haber objeción de conciencia", pero las Cortes Generales son "el único órgano constitucional que puede regular estos derechos", añadió el titular de Justicia. No obstante, se mostró abierto a "alguna modulación" del proyecto por parte de los diversos grupos parlamentarios.
La portavoz de Derecho a Vivir (DAV), Gádor Joya, respondió al ministro asegurando que la "inmensa mayoría" de los médicos "no practica abortos, ni lo hará".
Para DAV, este proyecto de Ley es en realidad "un proyecto de sociedad" en la que, según Joya, "el Gobierno dice cuándo empieza la vida humana, en la que las mujeres son carne de cañón para la violencia del aborto y en la que los derechos fundamentales se pisotean a golpe de BOE".
