El coordinador general de IU, Cayo Lara, ha emprendido su primer viaje a Cuba en una visita de tres días, a la que ha sido invitado por el Gobierno de la isla para conocer al nuevo responsable de la federación de izquierdas.
Cayo Lara ha salido esta tarde hacia La Habana, acompañado de los responsables de Áreas y Programas, Dolores Sánchez, y de la Secretaría de Coordinación de Grupos Parlamentarios, Ramón Luque, según han confirmado a Efe fuentes de la formación.
Además de los tres días de la visita oficial, en la que, en principio, no está prevista una reunión con el presidente cubano, Raúl Castro, Cayo Lara permanecerá en Cuba otro par de días con el objetivo de intentar conocer "mejor" la realidad del país caribeño.
Se trata de su primer viaje a la isla, en el que su agenda de trabajo está aún por cerrar y, por tanto, aún no se ha fijado que reuniones mantendrá allí y si se verá o no con representantes de la disidencia.
