Actualizado:
La nave de exploración Phoenix ha encontrado hielo en la superficie de la región ártica de Marte, y los científicos conocerán su composición química y si hay trazas de material orgánico en las próximas semanas, anunció hoy la NASA.
"Es enormemente emocionante el que hayamos encontrado hielo debajo del sitio donde descendió" la cápsula Phoenix, afirmó en una conferencia de prensa Peter Smith, de la Universidad de Arizona, que dirige el aspecto científico de la misión.
"Estamos seguros de que encontramos una superficie con hielo", agregó.
