Actualizado:
La comisaria europea de Sanidad, Androulla Vassiliou, anunció hoy que mañana evaluará con la industria farmacéutica si hace falta una nueva vacuna contra la gripe porcina y el tiempo necesario para desarrollarla.
La reunión fue solicitada por la comisaria para estudiar las existencias de antivirales y vacunas, su eficacia contra el actual virus y "si necesitamos una vacuna, que aparentemente es así, y cuánto tiempo les costará producirla".
Vassiliou dijo en unas declaraciones que espera que la reunión extraordinaria de ministros de Sanidad, el jueves próximo en Luxemburgo, acuerde protocolos comunes sobre vigilancia, recomendaciones a viajeros y tratamiento de los casos confirmados.
