La Comisión Nacional de Competencia (CNC) dijo el miércoles que ha impuesto una multa de más de 8 millones de euros a los fabricantes de gel de baño Sara Lee, Puig y Colgate por un aumento encubierto de precios de sus productos.
Henkel, el cuarto grupo de este cartel, se liberó de la sanción por haber aportado las pruebas necesarias para comprobar la existencia de las infracciones.
"Es la primera vez que se sanciona a unas empresas en aplicación del programa de clemencia", dijo la CNC para agregar que la sanción de Sara Lee se vio reducida en un 40 por ciento por su participación activa en la investigación.
El acuerdo, adoptado a través de diversas reuniones entre los máximos directivos de dichas empresas, consistió en un aumento encubierto de los precios del gel de baño.
"Dicho incremento de precios se conseguía vendiendo el gel de baño en un envase más reducido... pero manteniendo el mismo precio del envase. Bajo este acuerdo, Henkel, Sara Lee y Puig redujeron entre junio de 2006 y mayo de 2007 los envases de sus marcas Fa, La Toja, Magno, Sanex, Lactovit, Kinesia, y Heno de Pravia en un 15 por ciento de su capacidad. Colgate no llegó a reducir sus envases en la fecha acordada", dijo el regulador.
