Las agrupaciones enfrentadas islámicas Hamas y Al Fatah llevaron a cabo conversaciones "directas y fraternales" durante los dos días de reuniones que se han desarrollado con el presidente de Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade, como mediador, dijo hoy en un comunicado el gobierno senegalés.
"El diálogo está dirigido a reconciliar a la familia palestina y que dejen sus diferencias atrás", dijo en el mensaje la Presidencia de Senegal.
El comunicado resalta el clima de "confianza y de respeto mutuo" que ha hecho posible "volver a encontrarse en torno a los intereses fundamentales del pueblo palestino".
El mandatario senegalés retomará el contacto con los líderes de los dos movimientos para los próximos encuentros, menciona el comunicado que da más detalles sobre la mediación.
Ambas partes han firmado un acuerdo por el que se comprometen a atender a próximas reuniones. Hikmat Hashim representó en este acto a Al Fatah y Imad Al-'Alami a Hamas. .
Osama Hamdan, el representante en el Líbano de Hamas, dijo a el Centro de Información de Palestina que desde su punto de vista la reunión de Dakar eran una prueba de la seriedad del llamamiento del presidente palestino Mahmoud Abbas de reiniciar el diálogo entre ambas organizaciones.
Después de que Hamas ganara las elecciones parlamentarias en 2006, se generaron en la política palestina grandes diferencias que se tradujeron en enfrentamientos durante 2007.
