A continuación, datos sobre Jean Todt, elegido el viernes presidente de la Federación Internacional del Automóvil (FIA) en sucesión del británico Max Mosley:
* Hijo de un médico que abandonó una Polonia en guerra para trasladarse a Francia, Todt nació en Pierrefort, en el departamento de Cantal del este de Francia en 1946.
* El francés compitió como copiloto en el campeonato mundial de rally y ganó el título de constructores con Talbot Lotus. Se retiró de la competición en 1981.
* En 1982, Todt fundó Peugeot Talbot Sport y se convirtió en director de actividades de carreras. El equipo ganó dos títulos de constructores y dos de pilotos al igual que cuatro competiciones de rally París-Dakar.
* Luego se convirtió en director de actividades deportivas en Peugeot-Citroën, y su equipo ganó la carrera 24 horas de Le Mans en 1992 y 1993.
* Todt se cambió al equipo Ferrari de la Fórmula Uno, que entonces era un gigante dormido, en 1993 y logró persuadir a Michael Schumacher y Ross Brawn de unirse a él.
Bajo su dirección, el equipo ganó 13 títulos mundiales, incluidos seis campeonatos de constructores seguidos de 1999 al 2004, y 98 carreras.
* Tras renunciar para dejar la jefatura del equipo en manos de Stefano Domenicali, Todt rompió sus lazos con Ferrari en marzo de 2009. Ha estado involucrado en la FIA desde 1975 en varios cargos.
* Su compañera es la actriz malasia Michelle Yeoh, que ha actuado en películas como "Tigre y Dragón" y "El mañana nunca muere".
* El hijo de Todt, Nicolas, es representante del piloto brasileño de Ferrari Felipe Massa. También es copropietario y jefe del equipo ART GP2.
* Todt cuenta con el respaldo del actual presidente de la FIA, Mosley.
