La Guardia Civil ha detenido en Madrid a Vicenzo D., de 57 años, un importante miembro de la camorra italiana, que pertenece al denominado 'clan Giuliano', cuya actividad delictiva se centra en el barrio de Forcella de Nápoles.
Según la Guardia Civil, el detenido se había asentado en España en 2001 tras la detención del capo del clan Luigi Guiliano, que a su vez desencadenó el arresto de más de 300 personas del grupo mafioso.
Sobre el detenido pesaba una orden europea de detención e ingreso en prisión por diversos delitos entre los que destaca el tráfico de estupefacientes a gran escala y a nivel internacional, emitida por un tribunal de Nápoles.
La detención, llevada a cabo por el Equipo de Huidos de la Justicia de la Unidad Central Operativa de la Guardia Civil, se efectuó en una céntrica calle de Madrid.
En el momento de la detención, Vincenzo mostró a los agentes documentación falsa a nombre de otro ciudadano italiano.
El detenido ha pasado a disposición del Juzgado de Guardia de la Audiencia Nacional para su extradición a Italia.
