La economía española cayó entre abril y junio el 0,4 %, lo que supone una contracción más intensa que la registrada en el trimestre precedente como consecuencia de una caída más acentuada del consumo privado y del gasto público.
De acuerdo con la estimación publicada hoy por el Banco de España, la demanda interna se contrajo el 1,2 %, si bien el impacto negativo de esta caída fue amortiguado en parte por el sector exterior, con una contribución positiva al PIB del 0,8 %, más alta que en el trimestre precedente, gracias a la recuperación de las exportaciones.
Según la entidad, España se está enfrentando a un entorno muy complicado de debilitamiento de la economía mundial, inestabilidad de los mercados financieros y dudas sobre la dirección de la política europea.
En esta situación, señala como las dos principales fuentes de vulnerabilidad de la economía española la situación del sistema bancario y la percepción de que las administraciones públicas tendrán dificultades para corregir el déficit.
