España ha mostrado hoy a Costa Rica y Nicaragua su "plena disposición" a participar en un eventual Grupo de Países Amigos que pueda ayudar a "recuperar el clima de confianza necesario" para buscar una solución al conflicto fronterizo entre ambos países, dispuestos ya al diálogo.
Según explicó la ministra española de Asuntos Exteriores, Trinidad Jiménez, la presidenta costarricense, Laura Chinchilla, y la presidenta de la Corte Suprema de Nicaragua, Alba Luz Ramos, que representó a su país en la XX Cumbre Iberoamericana, expusieron sus respectivos puntos de vista sobre el contencioso durante el desayuno de trabajo que reunió hoy a España con los países centroamericanos.
Jiménez calificó de "muy productiva y muy útil" esta reunión de trabajo, un encuentro en el que las representantes de Costa Rica y Nicaragua mostraron su "disposición al diálogo" y en el que se pidió a España que participe en un eventual Grupo de Amigos que ayude a solucionar la crisis.
Además del litigio que enfrenta a Costa Rica y Nicaragua a raíz de la presencia de tropas nicaragüenses en un sector de la fronteriza isla Calero, sobre el que ambos países aseguran tener soberanía, en la reunión se sometió a debate la polémica sobre la legitimidad del Gobierno hondureño de Porfirio Lobo, a propuesta del presidente dominicano, Leonel Fernández.
Junto al Rey de España y la jefa de la diplomacia española, asistieron también a este encuentro los presidentes Álvaro Colom (Guatemala), Mauricio Funes (El Salvador) y Ricardo Martinelli (Panamá), así como el secretario general del Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana (SICA), Juan Daniel Alemán.
