Un español se escapó de sus secuestradores que lo mantuvieron como rehén 16 horas en la ciudad colombiana de Santa Marta y le exigían un pago de cerca de un millón de dólares para dejarlo en libertad, informaron fuentes oficiales y el afectado.
La víctima, que no fue identificada por petición de él mismo, aseguró que los secuestradores lo tomaron como rehén por negarse a transportar hasta Europa un cargamento de drogas a través de Venezuela.
En un descuido optó por saltar desde la ventana de un tercer piso. "Caí sobre la acera y el cuerpo en un jardín, fracturándome la tibia y el peroné", dijo el ciudadano español al informativo de televisión Caracol. Debido a las lesiones tuvo que se internado en la clínica del Ejército en la caribeña ciudad de Santa Marta (norte).
"Me invitó un conocido para que visitase una empresa que tenía problemas y estaba en venta y quería que le buscase clientes en Europa", dijo sobre su visita a Colombia. El empresario español indicó que fue engañado y sus captores lo llevaron a un apartamento cerca del mar.
"En el apartamento estaban allí mismo dos personas armadas que me dijeron que estaba detenido hasta que llegase su patrón y me comunicase la cantidad que les debía de una operación que querían hacer en Maracaibo y a la cual yo me negué", agregó.
Después de huir se refugió en una casa vecina, en donde fue recogido por el Ejército colombiano y trasladado al hospital.
