El euríbor marcó hoy su tasa diaria más baja desde noviembre pasado y se situó en el 1,228 por ciento, un día después de que el Banco Central Europeo (BC) decidiera dejar inalterados en el 1 por ciento los tipos de interés en la zona del euro.
De este modo, la media provisional de enero (1,240 por ciento) se sitúa, tras dos semanas de cotización, por debajo del 1,242 por ciento de diciembre, y menos de la mitad de lo que marcaba hace un año, en enero de 2009 (2,622 por ciento).
El indicador, que suele subir o bajar en función de las subidas o bajadas de tipos por parte del BCE, marcó en noviembre su tasa mensual más baja de todos los tiempos (1,231 por ciento).
Por primera vez desde mediados de noviembre, el euríbor diario se situaba hoy por debajo del 1,23 por ciento, con los inversores confiados en que el BCE mantendrá los tipos en sus niveles actuales al menos hasta finales de año, tal y como aseguró ayer el presidente de la entidad.
Jean-Claude Trichet afirmó ayer que la decisión de mantenerlos en el 1 por ciento fue adoptada por "unanimidad" al existir la creencia de que "ese nivel es el apropiado" para impulsar la recuperación económica y asegurar la estabilidad de precios en la zona del euro.
Además, evitó todo comentario que pueda dar indicios de cómo evolucionarán los tipos "por mucho que eso sea importante para los mercados".
