El presidente boliviano, Evo Morales, marcó hoy tres goles en un partido amistoso de fútbol jugado en La Habana, en el que su equipo ganó 7 a 2 a un grupo de jóvenes de su país que estudian en la Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina, informaron medios oficiales cubanos.
El partido, al que no tuvo acceso la prensa extranjera acreditada en La Habana -ni a buena parte de su visita de 12 horas-, se produjo después de una reunión de Morales con becarios bolivianos, en la que agradeció al gobierno de Cuba la ayuda para la formación de sus compatriotas.
El mandatario "recordó su origen en la secretaría deportiva de un sindicato agrario campesino y manifestó interés por convertir el deporte en un instrumento de integración entre los pueblos del mundo", relata la Agencia de Información Nacional (AIN, estatal).
Agrega que Ricardo Paco, representante de los estudiantes bolivianos en la escuela de medicina, manifestó a Morales "el deseo de los alumnos de terminar la carrera para apoyar en la tierra natal la lucha que libra el Movimiento al Socialismo" (MAS, el partido de Morales).
"El equipo presidencial ganó el duelo con marcador de siete anotaciones por dos, respaldado por las anotaciones de su número 10, Evo Morales", añade AIN.
Morales llegó hoy a La Habana para entrevistarse con el presidente cubano, general Raúl Castro Ruz, y su hermano y antecesor Fidel, primer secretario del gobernante Partido Comunista, según declaró tras aterrizar en el aeropuerto José Martí con 18 horas de retraso respecto a lo inicialmente anunciado.
Morales, muy aficionado al fútbol, donó balones y uniformes al equipo de Bolivia en la escuela de medicina.
