El Gobierno francés presentó hoy un proyecto de ley de protección de la creación en internet que prevé la suspensión de la conexión a la red de los abonados que se descarguen archivos ilegalmente.
La medida será adoptada tras dos advertencias previas al abonado y a instancias de una autoridad independiente que será creada a tal efecto, precisó el Ejecutivo.
La suspensión del abono podrá tener una duración de entre tres meses y un año y puede ser modificada si el internauta acepta el pago de una multa.
"El proyecto de ley responde a una situación de urgencia, la economía del sector cultural y la renovación de la creación están amenazadas por el robo sistemático de obras en las redes digitales", indicó el Ejecutivo.
El proyecto de ley recoge las propuestas elaboradas por una comisión que integró a organismos representativos del sector musical, el cine y las empresas de acceso a internet.
El presidente Nicolas Sarkozy afirmó durante el Consejo de Ministros que "internet no puede ser una zona de no derecho", según relató el portavoz del Ejecutivo, Luc Chatel.
