El mal tiempo en forma de tormenta y lluvia ha encapotado hoy los cielos de Viena a pocas horas de la semifinal de la Eurocopa entre España y Rusia, prevista para las 20.45 horas (18.45 GMT).
El último pronóstico del instituto central de Meteorología y Geodinámica de Viena es que la lluvia puede estar presente toda la tarde-noche de forma intermitente hasta, incluso, la hora del partido, con rachas de viento de entre 40 y 50 kilómetros por hora.
En cualquier caso, la tormenta no será de tanta fuerza como la que ayer azotó la capital austríaca y durante la que se registraron vientos de hasta 108 kilómetros hora y que provocó el pánico en las zonas de aficionados, que fueron desalojadas.
Anoche, debido a las fuertes lluvias, unas 30.000 personas tuvieron que ser evacuadas de la principal zona de aficionados en la capital austríaca en la segunda parte de la primera semifinal de la Eurocopa entre Alemania y Turquía.
Además, se cortó la señal de televisión de la UEFA y casi todas las cadenas internacionales, con excepción de la televisión suiza y la qatarí Al Yazira, sufrieron cortes de retransmisión de hasta 18 minutos en la segunda parte del encuentro.
La UEFA informó hoy de que los problemas se debieron a varios cortes de electricidad consecutivos, que hicieron necesario reiniciar el sistema en Centro Internacional de Radiodifusión (IBC), situado en las cercanías del estadio Ernst Happel de Viena.
Por otra parte, las autoridades vienesas anunciaron hoy que esperan unos 100.000 aficionados en el centro de la ciudad, de los cuales unos 25.000 serán rusos y españoles.
En total habrá unos 1.800 policías patrullando por las zonas más emblemáticas de la ciudad, aunque no se esperan tensiones entre los aficionados de los equipos.
