La multinacional estadounidense General Motors (GM) ha llegado a un acuerdo con la holandesa Spyker Cars para la venta del fabricante de coches sueco Saab Automobile, informó hoy el canal público Televisión de Suecia (SVT).
Ninguna de las compañías implicadas ha querido confirmar la noticia, aunque según SVT el acuerdo se hará oficial en las próximas horas.
El Banco Europeo de Inversiones (BEI) ha dado su apoyo a un préstamo para Saab en caso de que se cierre la operación, y las autoridades suecas han ofrecido los avales necesarios.
El Gobierno sueco tiene prevista hoy una reunión extraordinaria sobre el futuro de Saab, según SVT.
GM anunció el pasado día 8 la desmantelación de Saab Automobile y eligió a la consultora AlixPartners para supervisar la liquidación de la compañía sueca, a pesar de que mantenía conversaciones con interesados como la luxemburguesa Genii Capital, un grupo sueco y Spyker Cars, la única que quedaba al final.
Las autoridades suecas nombraron incluso cuatro días después a dos liquidadores para iniciar el proceso de desmantelación de la empresa, que se declaró insolvente en febrero de 2008 y estuvo bajo administración judicial varios meses mientras fue reestructurada.
