El francés Gilles Simon, 16 del mundo, alcanzó su primera final de un Masters Series al vencer hoy al español Rafael Nadal, número uno del mundo, por 3-6, 7-5 y 7-6 (6), después de un agónico partido que duró tres horas y 22 minutos.
Simon se enfrentará en la final al británico Andy Murray. El jugador escocés superó en semifinales al suizo Roger Federer, campeón en el 2006 y finalista el pasado año, por 3-6, 6-3 y 7-5 en una hora y 56 minutos.
